Motorola has released out the expected multimedia handset dubbed Z8. The handset comes with amazing features, including video capture and playback at 30 frames per second. The 80MB on-board memory doesn’t impress me so much but thanks to the microSDHC cards that hold up to 32GB of data. Other salient specs include HSDPA and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity. The multimedia phone boasts a QVGA 16 million color TFT display.
Now, it’s not the Apple iPhone who is starring the show. LG has also taken a leading part with its tiny concept clamshell that has taken a different approach in the designing of the future phones. Amazingly, the concept clamshell reveals two touchscreens as you unfold it. The dynamic icons will move around at the tap. The phone will offer support for games. I sincerely wish to see this clamshell go into production for real.
Xda terra is goin to be launched anytime soon. Leeds University researchers have developed a mobile phone which can measure the vital signs of a patient.The advantage of this phone is that it would cut down on the number of visit to the doctor’s clinic and hence save out on expensive medical bills. The patients can also keep a tab on the progress of their health by manually entering nutrition related data or undertaking psychological tests on the phone. A prototype testing is about to begin with full fledged trials beginning next year.
