Talking Tooth?

Tra_phone_pic Tired of loosing your cell phone? or not have any place to put it? In a not so far future, you may not have to. Two British researchers have developed a prototype "phone tooth" that can be embedded in a molar and receive cell-phone calls. The signals are translated into vibrations that travel from the tooth to your skull to your inner ear, where only you can hear them. Great for giving instructions to spies and NFL quarterbacks. Not so great for the ordinary people though, it's a one way thing, and nobody is going to hear what you have to say, and of course fotget about  text messages unless you want your mouth look like a circus... anyway I now I wouldn't want one of these Imagine the pain.

Microsoft Shift Project May

3 The Microsoft shift project is expected to provide a big leap in designing greater touchscreen technology for the crowded cellphone industry. An additional function that makes the project very useful in designing  is visual feedback provided to narrow down your inputs as well. This kind of touch screen will  outscore over the others in the shells like Apple’s iPhone, Windows Mobile phones and other touchscreen phones as it will need no stylus to operate as in these phones.

Leeds University researchers have developed a mobile phone which can measure the vital signs of a patient. The advantage of this phone is that it would cut down on the number of visit to the doctor’s clinic and hence save out on expensive medical bills. The patients can also keep a tab on the progress of their health by manually entering nutrition related data or undertaking psychological tests on the phone. A prototype testing is about to begin with full fledged trials beginning next year.

BenQSiemens Snake phone

19_2 The concept phone seems to be the recreation of a snake and you can wrap it around your wrist. The looks are cool and captivating but I doubt the ease with which we will be operating this freaky concept phone. Fashion but not practical is my veredict.

17_2When this Bracelet phone receives any message, it starts vibrating and making or receiving a phone call is just too easy. To read the message, take the bracelet out of your wrist and press the diamond-like keystroke.
Whoa, it’s not just another run-of-the-mill concept. Instead, the bracelet phone comes with a built-in MP3 player. So now you can bring your cellphone to the fanciest party and don't look like an idiot :P

BenQ-Siemens The mistery!

Benqsiemensmystery Things are pretty shady on the BenQ-Siemens front, what with this unidentified handset appearing suddenly. Information regarding this mystery cellphone is more scant than finding the nasa videos of the moonlanding :P, so it looks like our friends at BenQ-Siemens are paying their people really well to keep this offering under wraps. Shaped after a black pebble, this smartphone comes with a red side which surrounds the entire side and front. More updates will be available as soon as there is some progress i guess...

Solar Cell phone

Pi18_mikroenergietechnik_g_The German Fraunhofer Institute is working on a solar powered cell phone, by using high-efficiency solar cells integrated to the device. This should able the cell phone to remain continuously powered up, as long as it receives sufficient sunlight (about 2 hours per day), if not, it can be charged using the conventional means.
