PT Telkom Selects TRG For First WiMAX Deployment In Indonesia
Telkom Indonesia has awarded a contract to PT. Teknologi Riset Global (TRG) for a nationwide WiMAX network. The Telkom deployment is in support of the recent Indonesian ministry decree to migrate existing services operating at 3.5GHz to the 3.3GHz spectrum while adhering to the 802.16d standard. Telkom has already deployed the TRG WiMAX solution in the four regions of West Java, Jakarta, Sumatra Island and Kalimantan Island.
TRG will deploy network infrastruture supplied by Canada's Tranzeo Wireless Technologies.
"We are leveraging the vast WiMAX expertise and technology of Tranzeo to provide industry leading WiMAX solutions to Indonesian carriers," said Gatot Tetuko, President of TRG. "This engagement is the first of many opportunities we expect to win as we collaborate with Tranzeo."
